Theses Guide

Create, review, and activate team trading ideas before they become set-ups.

~6 min – the idea layer where conviction, regime, sizing, voting, and shared research become executable team context

Theses (`/team/theses`) capture high-level trading ideas before they become Set-ups. Nothing executes without an active thesis downstream.

Where to Find It

  • Sidebar → The Trading Floor → Theses
  • Linked from Team Overview dashboard and notification deep-links (`?thesis=`)

Key UI

  • Actions: Request Capital, Create Thesis (permission-gated)
  • Team selector when multiple teams
  • Filters: status (All, Pending Review, Active, Paused, Closed, Draft), search, tag multi-select
  • Thesis cards: title, status badge, creator, market regime, description, tags
  • Workflow: Draft → Submit for Review → Approve & Activate → Pause / Close
  • Collapsible panels: Comments, Vote (ThesisVoting), Shared Charts, Attachments (file upload)
  • Stats row: set-up count, execution count, total P&L, win rate, target notional

Create Thesis Dialog

  • Optional template prefill
  • Title, description, entry/exit criteria, market regime, target/max notional, tags

Permissions

  • `create_thesis` — owner, admin, analyst, lead
  • `update_thesis` — workflow transitions
  • `vote_on_thesis` — all members except restricted roles

Quick Workflow

  1. Select team → Create Thesis (or use template)
  2. Collaborate: comments, voting, attach shared charts
  3. Submit draft → approver activates
  4. Active thesis unlocks Set-ups under that idea
  5. Optional Request Capital (UI dialog; ties conceptually to Allocations)

Quick Reality Checks

  • Can't create set-up? → Thesis not Active
  • No theses? → Start at Team Overview or invite analysts
  • Capital request only shows snackbar? → Backend capital workflow may still be expanding

Next: Set-ups Guide — structure and execute trades under active theses.
