Set-ups Guide

Turn active theses into executable trade plans and submit team executions.

~6 min – the structured playbook under each thesis where guardrails, buying power, and a 3-step execute flow turn ideas into live positions

Set-ups (`/team/setups`) are team playbooks linked to active theses. Execute Set-up creates a live execution that surfaces on Team Pulse and Executions.

Where to Find It

  • Sidebar → The Trading Floor → Set-ups
  • Notification deep-links: `/team/setups?setup=`

Key UI

  • TradingPausedBanner + GuardrailViolationBanner when paused or breached
  • BuyingPowerCard — available risk before execute
  • Filters: team selector, thesis filter (all or one thesis)
  • Set-up cards: name, linked thesis badge, author, execution count, P&L, win rate, comments
  • Execute Set-up — disabled if thesis not active or guardrails breached

3-Step Execute Dialog

  1. Basic Info — symbol, side, size, exchange, portfolio (from Portfolios)
  2. Risk Parameters — entry, leverage, stop loss, take profit, liquidation context
  3. Confirm & Guardrails — final review; server validates limits

Create Set-up Dialog

  • Pick active thesis, name, description

Permissions

  • Create set-up: analyst, admin, owner, lead (API-enforced)
  • Execute: trader, admin, owner, lead — blocked by guardrails regardless of role

Quick Workflow

  1. Confirm active thesis exists (Theses)
  2. Create Set-up under that thesis
  3. Review buying power + guardrail banners
  4. Execute Set-up → complete 3 steps → success navigates to Executions
  5. Verify position on Team Pulse Live Blotter

Quick Reality Checks

  • Execute disabled? → Inactive thesis or guardrail breach
  • No portfolios in picker? → Create team portfolio first
  • Execute succeeds but no blotter row? → Wrong team selected on Pulse
